Arsenal Preview and News
Two consecutive draws slowed down Arsenal in the title race, but in their latest game, they got all three points again. Arteta’s team faced Tottenham in the derby of North London and restored its confidence with a spectacular 4-1 win. Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres emerged as heroes as they scored braces. That’s how Arsenal should perform if they want to become champions again.
It would not be logical for Mikel Arteta to leave Eberechi Eze on the bench again after such a performance. Arsenal’s number 10 is expected to start against Chelsea as well. This means that most likely, the captain, Martin Odegaard, would be benched once again. The Norwegian international is not in his best shape.
Viktor Gyokeres now has 10 Premier League goals since the start of the season. The Swedish star is often criticised for his performances, but his stats are not that bad. Gyokeres could seriously help Arsenal win the title in the remaining matches. These goals could improve his confidence.
Chelsea Preview and News
Chelsea will travel to the Emirates after two consecutive draws in the league against Leeds and Burnley. These results clearly show us that Liam Rosenior’s team is not at its peak form at the moment. It’d be interesting to see what they can show us at the Emirates – in a match against the current leader.
The 1-1 draw against Burnley at Stamford Bridge was a serious disappointment to the fans. Joao Pedro gave the Blues an early advantage, but the defence collapsed in the 93rd minute when Burnley equalised.
Now Rosenior could make a change or two against Arsenal. Wesley Fofana can’t participate in the game because of suspension, but Tosin Adarabioyo could replace him in the defence. Meanwhile, Jamie Gittens remains injured and can’t be used by the manager
Head-to-Head Matches
This game at the Emirates will be the 212th match between Arsenal and Chelsea in all competitions. The Gunners have won most of them – 86, while 64 wins were for the Blues. There are 61 draws, too.
Arsenal vs Chelsea Betting Preview
Both teams need to win this one, but for different reasons. Arsenal would like to keep their advantage over Manchester City while Chelsea is hunting Manchester United for the 4th place. They are also unbeaten in their last five Premier League games, which suggests a great game is ahead.
